Orders

Use Sales > Orders to find a sales order and continue its processing. For a new order, see Create a sales order.

Find an order

  1. Open Sales > Orders.
  2. Enter the order or customer details in the search field.
  3. Select the order row to show its details.
  4. Do a check of the customer, dates, lines, quantities, and status.

The detail view shows ordered and fulfilled quantities. Stock values refer to the stock shown for each line. An order status and a fulfillment quantity describe different parts of the sales workflow.

Use the column controls to select the columns that you need. Use Export to download the rows in the current view.

Change an order

  1. Find the order.
  2. Select Edit, when available.
  3. Change the applicable fields or lines.
  4. Select Save as draft or Save and open, as applicable.
  5. Open the order again to examine the saved values.

To start another order with the same details, use Duplicate. See Duplicate a sales order for the fields to examine before saving.

Create an invoice

  1. Open the action menu for an open or closed order.
  2. Select Create invoice for quantities that have not yet been billed.
  3. To bill shipped quantities, select Create invoice from shipped quantity, when available.
  4. Examine the invoice lines and dates.
  5. Save the invoice as a draft or issue it.

These actions open an invoice form. They do not issue the invoice immediately. See Invoices for the complete procedure.

Use View invoices to examine the invoices linked to the order. Use Shipment details to examine its shipments.

Record a return

  1. Open the action menu for an open or closed order.
  2. Select Create sales return.
  3. Examine the copied lines and enter the returned quantities.
  4. Complete the return procedure.

Close or cancel an order

Use Close order when an open order needs no further processing. Closing changes the order status. It does not create an invoice or shipment.

Use Cancel order before fulfillment, billing, or payment activity starts.

  1. Open the order action menu.
  2. Select Cancel order.
  3. Examine the order number in the confirmation dialog.
  4. Select Cancel order to continue.

If cancellation fails, examine the linked shipments, invoices, and payments before trying again.

Delete a draft

Deletion permanently removes the draft and its lines.

  1. Open the draft order action menu.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Examine the order number.
  4. Select Delete order to continue.

The delete action is available for drafts.
