Recommendations

Use Purchasing > Recommendations to examine proposed purchases. Create a purchase order draft from the lines that you accept.

Generate recommendations

  1. Open Purchasing > Recommendations.
  2. Select Generate.
  3. Wait for the recommendation task to finish.
  4. Examine the resulting orders and summary.

The application shows the task's progress while generation runs. Use Cancel to stop a running task when that action is available.

If the task reports an error, read the error before you generate again. An empty list means that the current result contains no recommended orders.

Examine an order

  1. Select a recommendation row to expand its lines.
  2. Do a check of the vendor, quantities, costs, and expected date.
  3. Do a check of the accepted lines.
  4. Clear the acceptance checkbox for each line that you do not want to purchase.

At least one line must remain accepted before you can create a draft. The new purchase order contains only the accepted lines.

Use the column controls to show the information that you need. Select a sortable column heading to change the order of the list.

Create a purchase order draft

  1. Find the recommendation that you examined.
  2. Select Create draft.
  3. Examine the new purchase order in Purchasing > Orders.
  4. Correct the quantities, costs, destination, or delivery dates, if necessary.
  5. Select Save as draft or Save and open.

Create draft creates a purchase order for the accepted lines. It does not send the order to a vendor, receive stock, or post a bill. The recommendation shows that its draft was created.

See Orders for the complete purchase order procedure.

Disregard recommendations

  1. Select the recommendation rows that you do not want to use.
  2. Select Disregard selected.
  3. Read the confirmation.
  4. Select Disregard with the selected count in the confirmation.

The selected recommendations are removed from the current list. This action does not cancel an existing purchase order. Use the purchase order actions to stop an existing order.
